Yellowstone is the world's first national park. Five days and four nights, encounter the wonders and wildness of the Earth's interior among geysers, the Grand Canyon, and the bison.
The Laozhongshi Spring erupts on time, with water columns dozens of meters high shooting into the sky—this is Huangshi's signature spectacle. Next to it is the large prism hot spring, where microorganisms dye the pool surface a palette of blue, green, and orange, only seen in aerial shots.
The upper and lower waterfalls of Huangshi Grand Canyon, the Huangshi River sways between colorful cliffs, and the golden and ochre hues of Painter Peak glow under the sunlight. The trail descends along the cliff walls, with the sound of water echoing loudly.
The Lamar Valley is known as the "Serengeti of America," home to bison, elk, wolves, and bears. At dawn, setting up binoculars to watch the herds of bison crossing the river is more realistic than any zoo.
The travertine steps of the mammoth hydrothermal springs resemble frozen waterfalls, with layers of chalky terraces. Geothermal heat boils the air to a sulfurous scent, reminding you that the planet beneath your feet is still alive.
The wildness of Yellowstone is the earth's own mastery. When you meet a bison by the roadside and it ignores you, you suddenly understand: here, humans are the guests.
