Wugong Mountain: Watching the starry sky from the meadow in the clouds

Wugong Mountain features rare alpine meadows in Jiangnan. For three days and two nights, from sunrise over the golden summit to the starry sky tents on the meadows, the outdoor romance is maximized amid 100,000 acres of continuous green waves.

The most impressive feature of Wugong Mountain is its alpine meadows. At an elevation of over 1,600 meters, 100,000 mu of meadows stretch out like a massive green carpet stretching across the sky, quite different from the typical central-southern mountains, and is called the "Hulunbuir of the South" by hikers.

Climb to Golden Summit (Baihe Peak) to watch the sunrise and sea of clouds. When the morning light dyes the meadow golden, waves churn beneath your feet, and windmills slowly turn in the distance, it's the most healing scene of this trip. The chance of a sea of clouds after rain is very high.

Overnight tents under the starry sky are the soul of Wugong Mountain's activities. The meadow campsite falls silent after nightfall, the Milky Way stretches across the sky, and meteors occasionally streak by. Wrapping your sleeping bag tightly to gaze at the starry sky is a luxury you can never buy in the city.

Those who enjoy hiking take the Shenzi Village–Golden Summit or Fayunjie–Yangshimu route. The continuous ridges and meadows undulate with cattle and sheep scattered throughout. The difficulty is moderate yet the scenery is spectacular, making it a perfect beginner hiking destination.

The romance of Wugong Mountain is about returning vastness to the young. When you run on the meadow or shout under the stars, you suddenly feel that so-called freedom is just a patch of grass where you can lie down and look at the sky.
