Tibet is a journey of height and faith. From the golden summit of the Potala Palace to the starry sky at the foot of Everest, traveling west along National Highway 318 for nine days and eight nights, entrusting the soul to the land closest to the sky.

On the first day in Lhasa, don't rush the road; take your time walking along Barkhor Street. The air is thin, and you need to stop every few steps to catch your breath, but the sun is blazing and the sky is unbelievably blue. In the evening, go to Potala Palace Square and see it shining golden against the backdrop of bright red lanterns and snow-capped mountains, and only then do you truly realize you're standing on the roof of the world.

In the early morning, the front of Jokhang Temple is already packed with devotees bowing for long periods, and the life-sized statue of Shakyamuni has been burning for a thousand years. Following the pilgrimage procession around the temple, the thangka shops, sweet tea houses, and Tibetan shops on both sides of Barkhor Street wake up one after another, allowing you to feel a kind of devotion not belonging to tourists, but to everyday life.

Leaving Lhasa and heading south, crossing the Gangbala Pass, Yamdrok Lake's sapphire suddenly appeared beneath your feet like a sapphire fallen into a valley. The lake water shifted from sapphire blue to peacock green with the light, and the snow-capped mountains on the opposite shore silently watched over you. There were no noisy boats here, only wind, prayer flags, and an involuntary "wah."

The highlight of the trip is Everest Base Camp. The car passes Shigatse and Dingri, climbing all the way up to 5,200 meters. When the spire of Everest appears in the twelve camp next to Rongbuk Monastery, you forget your headache and cold. Step out of your tent at night, and the Milky Way stretches across the sky—a starry sky you'll never see in the city.

Tibet's gift is not a single photo, but an amplified sense of insignificance. In the cold wind at 5,000 meters altitude, you will re-understand faith, nature, and time. Leaving with a freshened breath, the aroma of Lhasa's butter tea will linger into your dreams.
