The Three Gorges of the Yangtze: The light boat has already passed through countless mountains

The Three Gorges is the most magnificent section of the Yangtze River. Four days and three nights, sailing past Qutang, Wuxia, and Xiling, rereading Li Bai's "The light boat has already passed ten thousand mountains" amid the mist and clouds along the gorge river.

Wuxia Gorge is renowned for its beauty, with twelve peaks stretching along the river, and Goddess Peak shrouded in mist. In the early morning, mist rises over the river, and the peaks appear and disappear, just like the saying, "Apart from Wushan, there are no clouds."

The Xiling Gorge is often flooded with swift waters, but now the Three Gorges Dam has made it peaceful. Passing the Three Gorges Dam, five-level locks lift the giant ship step by step, where the grandeur of human engineering and the wonders of nature come hand in hand.

Life on the boat is slow; from the deck, you can see orange groves on both banks, stilted houses, and the ancient boatman path. Anchor at night in a small town, go ashore and eat a bowl of Wushan grilled fish—so spicy you can't stop eating.

The grandeur of the Three Gorges lies in the dual weight of mountains, waters, and culture. When you watch the river flow day and night from the stern of a boat, you will understand why countless poets have written all about China's romance and vastness on this river.
