Shannan is a stop worth making a special stop in the land of Tibet. For 2 days and 1 night, between Samye Wat and Changzhu Wat Temple, encounter the unique atmosphere of Shannan.
Before venturing deep into the southern mountains, the presence of Samye Monastery had already arrived. From afar, seeing that scene, even the fatigue from traveling quietly eased, and he just wanted to stand a little longer.
Changzhu Temple is the most visually stunning spot in Shannan. Following its veins slowly, every corner hides a different expression, stretching time and space here.
Avoiding the crowds and slipping into the Yalong River, the southern mountains reveal their true form. Old people, alleys, stoves, and laughter enter the memory even before the scenic spots.
After nightfall, the Tibetan King tomb on the south side of the mountain lights up, the warm yellow light turning the grandeur of the day into a gentle embrace. Sitting down and doing nothing is also a form of arrival.
When leaving Shannan, I felt a bit reluctant, but the image of Samye Monastery replayed in my mind. But it was precisely this reluctance that proved the trip was worthwhile—it quietly left a part of itself with you.
