Meili Snow Mountain: Descend and circumnavigate at Kawagebo

Kawagebo on Meili Snow Mountain is the foremost of the eight sacred mountains in Tibet. Over four days and three nights, between Feilai Temple and Yubeng, complete a mountain rotation centered on faith and leg strength.

Staying at Feilai Temple, just to wait for a ray of sunlight shining on the golden mountain. When the first ray of sunlight sweeps over the summit of Kawagebo Peak, the entire snow-capped mountain turns from dark to golden, sacred and breathtaking—this is Meili's most precious moment, rare and hard to come by.

Hiking into Yubeng, this Tibetan village without road access is nestled in the embrace of snowy mountains. Climb Yubeng to see the sacred waterfall, go down to see the icy lake; along the way, forests, prayer flags, and snow-capped mountains all set together—this is the Eden in the hearts of hikers.

Walking three laps beneath the sacred waterfall, Tibetan compatriots believe they can wash away their sins. Cold water poured over the head, prayer flags brushing the face—the devotion and exhilaration of that moment are more unforgettable than any other scenery.

Leaving the village and walking through Ninnong Gorge, the cliffside plank road runs against a rushing stream, combining thrills and grandeur. Looking back at the rainfall, the village is as small as a matchbox, and only then does I realize how far I've come.

Meili's divinity lies in its rarity. When you finally see sunlight shining on the golden mountain after three nights, you'll understand why Tibetans bow to it for generations—some are truly great, worthy of admiration.
