Maotai Town is a must-visit stop in China's liquor towns. In one day, between the Liquor Culture City and the Chishui River, you'll encounter the unique atmosphere of Maotai Town.
Before venturing deep into Maotai Town, the atmosphere of the Liquor Culture City had already arrived. From afar, seeing that scene, even the fatigue from traveling quietly eased, and I just wanted to stand a little longer.
The Chishui River is the most visually stunning part of Maotai Town. Following its route slowly, every corner hides a different expression, stretching time and space here.
Avoiding the crowds and sneaking into the old cellar, Maotai Town reveals its true self. The elderly, alleys, stove fires, and laughter all enter the memory before the scenic spots do.
After nightfall, the ancient town of Maotai lights up, and the warm yellow glow turns the grandeur of the day into a gentle glow. Sitting down and doing nothing is also a form of arrival.
When leaving Maotai Town, I felt a bit reluctant, but what played in my mind was the Liquor Culture City. But it was precisely this reluctance that proved the trip was worthwhile—it quietly left a part of itself with you.
