The Eight Mansions: lakes and cliffs

Basu is a stop in the Nujiang Gorge worth making a special stop. One day, between the outskirts of Ranwu and the Nujiang River, encounter the unique atmosphere of Basu.

Before venturing deep into the Eight Mansions, the presence of the outskirts of Ranwu had already arrived. From afar, seeing that scene, even the fatigue from traveling quietly eased, and he just wished he could stand a little longer.

The Nu River is the most captivating part of the Eight Mansions. Following its veins slowly, every corner hides a different expression, stretching time and space here.

Avoiding crowds, you slip into Dora Sacred Mountain, where the Eight Mansions reveal their true selves. Old people, alleys, stoves, and laughter all settle in your memory before the sights do.

After nightfall, the valleys of Basu are lit up, and the warm yellow light turns the grandeur of the day into gentleness. Sitting down and doing nothing is also a kind of arrival.

When leaving Basu, I felt a bit reluctant, but the outskirts of Ranwu replayed in my mind. But it was precisely this reluctance that proved the trip was worthwhile—it quietly left a part of itself within you.
